Event overview
The Run Like a Mother event takes place on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Crown Point, Indiana. The event features two distances:
- 5K Timed Run
- Non-timed 2K
Entry fees listed are $30 for the 5K for adults, $25 for the non-timed 2K and for ages 3-12 ($20), and free for children under 3. Race shirts are available for an additional $16 through April 27. Strollers are allowed. The course follows the Flying Turkey course from the previous November and is described as flat with less congestion; the 2K is two laps around the lake.
Prizes, awards and logistics
The first 600 registered participants receive a finisher medal. Additional offerings include a free adult drink after the event and free entry ($5) to the Hometown Mother's Day Market. Race awards include medals for Top Overall, Top Master (40+), Clydesdale (men 210+ lbs), Athena (women 170+ lbs), and top three finishers in each age division (age groups listed from 0-8 up to 80+). Contests and giveaways include best costume and best decorated stroller prizes, running shoe and gift card giveaways, and automatic entry for mothers for certain prizes. The event supports St. Jude House and Emberly's Smiles. No refunds will be given and registration transfers are not allowed after May 1.
