Run Like a Mother 5K, Crown Point
Run Like a Mother is a community running event held at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Crown Point, IN on May 10, 2026. The event offers a timed 5K and a non-timed 2K with separate registration options and child pricing. Shirts are optional for an additional fee and strollers are allowed on the course.
Event day features on-site sign-in and registration, live music, costume and stroller contests, a pre-race warmup led by Basecamp Fitness, and a flag presentation and national anthem. A local market for Mother’s Day runs alongside the event, with vendors, food, specialty drinks, and family activities. The schedule also includes awards presentations, prize giveaways, a donation fitness class, and character visits for guests.
Prizes and giveaways include gift cards for costume and stroller contest winners plus running shoes and other prizes from a local retailer. Race awards are presented for Top Overall, Top Master, Clydesdale, Athena, and the top three finishers in each age division. Age divisions span from 0–8 through 80 and up.
Two early packet pickup opportunities are offered at local locations in the days before the event. The course follows the Flying Turkey route from the previous November and is described as flat with reduced congestion.
