The event is a summer road race held in Avon, North Carolina, with start and finish at SUN Realty, 41838 NC-12, Kinnakeet Shores, Avon, NC 27915. The course runs through Kinnakeet Shores, part of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore.

Entry fees are published by participant category: Adult $45, Youth under 17 $40, Active military and veterans $40. Online registration remains available. There is no pre event morning packet pick up; packet pickup and walk up registration are handled on race day at the SUN Realty start line.
Race services include chip timing, a T shirt for participants, and a unique finisher medal. Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers, first place youth boy and girl (14 and under), and first place male and female masters (40 and over). A light post race breakfast and refreshments are provided at the finish line.
