Run for Tomorrow 5K
Run for Tomorrow is a fundraising 5K event held at Kaneland Blackberry Creek Elementary School in Elburn, Illinois. The event is presented as the first annual Run for Tomorrow and is organized in support of Illinois Firefighter Peer Support in recognition of Suicide Prevention Month. A portion of funds raised is directed to the listed fundraising organization.
Race logistics note the use of a disposable chip timing tag attached to the back of the race bib. Runners must wear their bibs on the front of their clothing for accurate timing; covering, pocketing, or bending the chip can prevent it from reading. Smart watches and smartphones can interfere with the timing chip, and times recorded by those devices are not accepted for disputes.
All finishers will receive a medal, and a challenge coin is awarded to the top three male and female finishers in these age groups: 9 and under; 10 to 14; 15 to 19; 20 to 24; 25 to 29; 30 to 34; 35 to 39; 40 to 44; 45 to 49; 50 to 54; 55 to 59; 60 to 64; 65 to 69; 70 and older. Participant medals are guaranteed only for the first 200 runners. Race participants receive a fire department race shirt.
Packet pick up is at Elburn Fire Department Station 1, 200 East Route 38, Elburn. Walk in registration is welcome at packet pickup. After the run there will be music, food trucks, and opportunities for photos with a fire engine. Parking is available in the school main lot and along nearby streets.
