Event overview
The Run for the Roses is a 5K road race held on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Walnut Creek Athletic Complex in Raleigh, NC. This is the 45th annual edition. Every female finisher receives a red rose. A portion of race proceeds will be donated to Four Paws NC and Team Red, White and Blue NC. The event also collects pet food for the Wake County SPCA and other animal rescue organizations.
Registration, course and awards
Standard registration is $40 through February 1, 2026, with a reduced rate of $20 for entrants under 18; the fee rises after that date. Entries received by February 1 include a long-sleeved race shirt available in youth, women’s and men’s sizes; women’s shirts are V-neck and run small. Participants may choose a "no shirt" option to donate their fee. Early packet pickup is available at Fleet Feet Raleigh, Ridgewood Shopping Center, 3524 Wade Avenue on Saturday, February 14, 2026. The course includes off-road and gravel sections. Jogging strollers are permitted and dogs are allowed if leashed and not interfering with others. The race is timed by Run The East, LLC. Awards are given to the top three overall men and women, to top three finishers in listed age groups, and to top three youth in the 14-and-under group. A two-person team competition (one male, one female) awards the top three teams. Children’s races and family activities are part of the event.
