Run for the Roses 5K
The Run for the Roses 5K is the 46th annual 5K presented by the North Carolina Roadrunners Club in Raleigh, NC. The event is held on February 14, 2027 at 1201 Sunnybrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27610. It is described as one of the oldest 5Ks in the Triangle and features the tradition that every female finisher receives a red rose.
The event offers family-oriented activities including face painting and children's fun runs. Proceeds benefit Two charities: Four Paws NC, which trains service dogs for veterans, and Team Red, White and Blue NC, which works to connect veterans to community through physical and social activity.
Registration opens August 27, 2026 and closes January 31, 2027. Fees listed are $40 for registrations completed by January 31, 2027 with a race shirt guarantee, $45 for registrations through race day, and a special rate of $20 for entrants under 18. The registration fee includes a long sleeved race shirt for those registered by January 31; shirts are available in youth, women's, and men's sizes and will use the prior year's design in a new color. Participants may opt out of receiving a shirt so their fee is donated to the charities.
Early packet pickup is available at Fleet Feet Raleigh, Ridgewood Shopping Center, 3524 Wade Avenue, Raleigh, NC on February 13, 2027. Awards are given to top overall finishers, top age group finishers, top teams by combined time, and youth medalists in the 14 and under group.
