About the race
The North Carolina Roadrunners Club presents the 46th Annual Run for the Roses 5K in Raleigh, held at 1201 Sunnybrook Road. The event is a family-oriented afternoon that includes face painting and children's fun runs and raises funds for two charities: Four Paws NC, which trains service dogs for veterans, and Team Red, White and Blue NC, which works to connect veterans to community through physical and social activity.
Registration opens on August 27, 2026 and closes on January 31, 2027. Fees are $40 through the January 31 registration deadline with a race shirt guarantee, $45 through race day, and a special rate of $20 for entrants under 18. Runners who register by January 31 receive a long sleeved race shirt available in youth, women's, and men's sizes; registrants may choose a no shirt option so the fee goes to the beneficiary charities.
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, to the top three in each age group for males and females (15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+), and to the top three teams by combined time. Youth medals are awarded to the top three in the 14 and under category. Early packet pickup is available at Fleet Feet Raleigh in the Ridgewood Shopping Center on the day before the race.
