Willow Spring High School Turkey Trot
Held on November 26, 2026 at the Willow Spring High School track in Fuquay Varina, NC, this event centers on a USATF certified 5K course that starts and ends on the school track. The course includes a loop around campus, a section along the Park-Depot Greenway Trail, and a stretch through the South Lakes neighborhood. The kids events take place on the school track.
Event distances
- Competitive 5K with a 30 minute maximum time limit
- Family Fun 5K including walkers, runners, and strollers
- Kids Fun Run, 400 m, for children 9 and under
- Diaper Dash, 50 m, for children 4 and under
The competitive 5K offers overall awards for the top three finishers and age group awards for the top two in each group; awards are presented after the competitive 5K. The current course record holder receives a free entry.
All participants receive a medal. Participants in the Competitive 5K or the Family Fun 5K who register before October 23 are guaranteed a t shirt; registrations after that date do not guarantee a t shirt. Registration fees listed by the organizer are $35 for each 5K and $10 for the kids events. A commemorative t shirt can be added for the kids events at an additional cost of $15.
