The Freedom Ride Rescue Turkey Day 5K is held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 in Garner, North Carolina. Course and participation
The 5K and 1-mile courses use relatively flat, paved trails through White Deer and Lake Benson Parks. Well socialized dogs are allowed on a 6' or shorter leash; retractable leashes are not permitted. Thanksgiving themed costumes, decorated wagons, strollers and baby joggers are encouraged. Virtual participants receive a race shirt. The event has been capped in past years; this year’s field is limited to 1,000 participants and registration fees increase as race day approaches.
