The Freedom Ride Rescue Turkey Day 5K is an annual Thanksgiving Day race held on Thursday, November 27, 2025, in Garner, North Carolina. The event raises money for Freedom Ride Rescue to support abandoned, neglected and abused animals in North Carolina. Race options include:

Logistics and course
The event location is 2400 Aversboro Rd, Garner, NC 27529, and the courses run through White Deer and Lake Benson Parks. Both the 5K and 1M courses use relatively flat paved trails. Well socialized dogs are allowed on a 6-foot or shorter leash; retractable leashes are not permitted. Thanksgiving-themed costumes, decorated wagons, strollers and baby joggers are encouraged. The event is limited to 1,000 participants. Entry fees listed are $35 for the 5K, $25 for the 1 Mile Fun Run, and $30 for the Virtual 5K. Price changes and registration windows apply around early November 2025. Virtual participants receive a race shirt. Raffle prizes will be drawn at the end of the race.
