Run for the Gecko 5K
Run for the Gecko 5K takes place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Wickham Park Community Center, 2815 Leisure Way, Melbourne, FL 32935, US. The event includes an in-person Run/Walk and a virtual option. The distance offered is 5K.
Race amenities list birthday cupcakes for all finishers, tri-blend shirts for participants with a note that shirts are not guaranteed after April 10, free beer for participants 21 and older, a Li'l Gecko Kid's Run with Zippy the Gecko, and a random giveaway of a $500 gift card. The event benefits Eau Gallie High School running programs. Event signage and course support include fluids along the course and directional markers.
Timing and results features include electronic timing with immediate results, split clocks at each mile, finisher certificates, and a finish line video. Awards are given to the top three overall men and women, top masters men and women (40 plus), age group top three finishers across standard age brackets, top three fastest coed teams with a minimum of five members, and the top three schools by participation.
Registration fees are shown on the event page and note that entry fees are non refundable and non transferable. Early packet pickup is available at Running Zone, 3696 N. Wickham Rd, on Wednesday May 6, Thursday May 7, and Friday May 8. Race day packet pickup and late registration occur at the Wickham Park Community Center prior to the event.
