MikeyStrong Fun Run / Walk
The MikeyStrong Fun Run / Walk is a community running and fundraising event held at The Mikey Goodwin Playground at James H. Nance Park in Indialantic, Florida on 24 November 2026. The event raises funds for research and family support related to DIPG, a pediatric brain tumor that affects the pons and can impair breathing, balance, sleep, bladder control, sight, hearing, speech, and mobility. The foundation organizing the event donates proceeds directly to the cause; 95% of funds raised go to help others and the organization is run by volunteers.
The program includes an in-person run/walk, a virtual 5K option for remote participants, and a short kids run for children 12 and under. Registration opens on 1 September 2026 and closes on 24 November 2026. Published registration fees are $35.00 for the in-person 2 mile event, $25.00 for the virtual 5K, and $5.00 for the kids dash. The foundation has established a research fund at UF Shands, provided travel and family assistance, and made donations to local support organizations and families affected by DIPG.
