Run for Hops 18th Annual 10K and 5K : Kailua-Kona, HI
The Run for Hops is a community 5K and 10K fun run presented by People for Active Transportation Hawaii (PATH) and BMW of Hawai’i. The event was rescheduled to Saturday, April 11, 2026, due to the threat of inclement weather and the postponement of the Kona Brewers Festival. It is limited to 600 participants and has a nonrefundable entry fee of $40.
The course is a looped route that features Old Airport Park and the Makaeo Path. Awards are given to overall finishers and the top three in each 10-year age group. The event supports PATH’s bike education programming and other nonprofits that work on behalf of Hawai’i Island’s youth, culture, and environment. Post-race activities include an award ceremony and beer tasting with nibbles, and the race day atmosphere includes beer provided by Kona Brewing Company.
Packet pickup is held before race day at Big Island Running Company; there is no race day packet pickup or registration. Participants who were already registered were automatically transferred to the new date. A corporate and group challenge offers a registration discount for teams of at least 10 people.
