Overview

The Run Exe 5k is a series of six 5km road races held in Exwick, Exeter, from April to September. It is a UKA-licensed event.

The Course

The route is a traffic-free, two-lap course on footpaths and cycle tracks around Exwick Playing Fields and the River Exe Flood Relief Scheme. The course is described as flat.

Series Details

Runners can enter individual races or the full six-race series. The best four results count towards the series standings. A series medal is awarded to everyone who completes four or more races.

Logistics

Chip timing is used. Race numbers are collected at the first event and must be kept for the entire series; a replacement charge applies for lost numbers. The event features wave starts to reduce congestion: one for runners with an estimated finish under 19 minutes, and a second wave starting one minute later for those over 19 minutes.

On-site car parking is very limited. On-street parking is available on surrounding roads, and there are two council pay-and-display car parks (Okehampton Street and Flowerpot Lane) a short distance away, which are free after 6pm. Bike racking is available at the venue.

Entry

Entry is open to participants aged 11 and over. Standard entry fees are £15-17 per race. A series entry for all six races costs £75-85. A discounted rate of £9 per race or £45 for the series is available for runners aged 17 and under on race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
