Spring Challenge Series
The Running Events Devon Spring Challenge Day 1 is an eight-hour timed event held in Exmouth. Participants follow a scenic route on an old disused railway line, which is accurately measured and classified as a road stage. The course consists of a 5.3 km out-and-back lap entirely on tarmac surfaces.
The event utilizes a flexible starting system where participants may arrive and begin their run at any time within a specified morning and early afternoon window. To be classified as a finisher, runners and walkers must complete their final lap by the designated afternoon cutoff time. There are no fixed distance requirements, allowing individuals to complete as many laps as they choose within the time limit. Possible distances achieved include:
- 5.3 km (1 lap)
- 21.2 km (4 laps)
- Multiple laps up to 74.2 km (14 laps)
The event is open to participants of all abilities, including walkers, with a minimum age requirement of 18 years. The route is described as undulating and follows a paved path near Capel Lane in Littleham. All finishers receive a medal unless they have selected a specific entry tier that excludes perks. Entry capacity is strictly limited to 20 participants, and registration remains open until the day before the event or until the cap is reached.
