Run Durham Hamsterley Half Marathon 2026
The event is a half marathon held on 26 April 2026 in Hamsterley Forest, Redford Lane, DL13 3NL. The course is described as hilly, on multi terrain and traffic free, with views across the forest and the North Pennine Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. GPS coordinates are 54.6585727, -1.9324574.
Race HQ and registration are at Nest Car Park. Facilities at race HQ include bag drop, toilets, changing areas and parking with race carpark signage. Water is provided roughly every 3 miles and distance markers are placed every mile. Chip timing is used and official results are based on gun time; chip time is provided for personal use. Runners must display their race number on the front of their running top for timing and identification.
Entries are limited to 500 and close on 20 April 2026. Entry fees start from £24.00 for affiliated runners and £25.80 for unaffiliated runners. Minimum age to enter is 17. Event day medical cover is provided and there are refreshments available.
Finishers receive a medal. Individual prizes are voucher awards for 1st to 3rd places overall, and there are veteran age group prizes (women 35+ and men 40+ in five year bands, subject to minimum numbers) and club team awards calculated under UK Athletics rules.
