Cockfield Chase Fell Race
Cockfield Chase Fell Race is a beginners fell event held on Cockfield Fell on 28 April 2026. The event is organised by Durham Fell Runners and is licensed by the Fell Runners Association. It takes place on the ancient monument of Cockfield Fell.
The course is two laps. The first lap is a 3.5 km social run to show the route. Immediately after that lap finishes the 3.5 km competitive lap starts, giving a total distance of 7 km on an off road route.
Entry is open to people aged 14 or older. Entry fees are listed as £5 for FRA members and £6 for non members, with entry on the day available at the same fees. Entries are managed via the SiEntries system and there are stated opening and closing dates for pre entry.
Parking is arranged at the car park at the top of Cockfield main street (DL13 5HF) and marshals will direct parking. Butterknowle Scouts will operate a refreshment stall after the event. Participants are asked to wear off road running shoes and may leave a water bottle at the start and finish to reduce the use of disposable cups.
