Trail Blazer - Dam Busters
Trail Blazer: The Dam Busters Edition is a new trail race organised by Heart & Soul Racing Limited at Blackton Grange Estate in the North Pennines. The event takes place in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Pennine Way and is scheduled for 19 April 2026.
Both race formats start from Blackton Grange Estate near Barnard Castle and follow natural trails that run across moors and past dams. The available distances are listed below.
- 10 km on moors and rugged trails
- Half Marathon on moors and rugged trails
The route features rural, uneven terrain and open moorland. Blackton Grange Estate is located around 20 minutes west of Barnard Castle; the site is remote and public transport is extremely limited. Driving is recommended and the organiser advises car sharing to reduce environmental impact.
Entry fees are listed between £14 and £18. The event is presented as a community trail race by Heart & Soul Racing Limited and highlights natural landscape and trail running over moorland and dam areas. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
