Holiday Themed Running Event in Plano
The Gingerbread Lane race series takes place at Oak Point Park in Plano, Texas. This festive event utilizes the park's amphitheater and surrounding greenbelts, with a course primarily consisting of paved trails, though some sections may include crushed granite or dirt paths.
Race Categories
Participants can choose from several distances to suit their preferences:
- 10K: A chip-timed 6.22-mile race.
- 5K: A chip-timed 3.11-mile race.
- 1 Mile: A non-timed event for all experience levels.
- Kids Dash: A 50-meter sprint designed for children aged 10 and under.
- Virtual Run: A 6.22-mile remote option for those unable to attend in person.
Event Features and Amenities
The event features a holiday atmosphere with a live DJ playing music at the race rally tent. Aid stations are positioned along the course to provide water to participants. Upon finishing, runners can access snacks and refreshments, including holiday cookies and milk.
All finishers across all distances receive a themed race shirt and a commemorative medal. The event also hosts a costume contest where participants are encouraged to wear festive attire for a chance to win prizes such as race entries and trophies.
