Heath Turkey Dash
The Heath Turkey Dash is a community running event hosted at the Heath Golf & Yacht Club in Rockwall, Texas. The event occurs on Thanksgiving morning and serves as a fundraiser for Rockwall Helping Hands, an organization that supports local families. This fourth annual event includes two distinct distances:
- 1k Kids Run
- 5k Run
The 5k course consists of a loop through the neighborhood, traveling east on Governor's Drive, north on Trophy, and returning west on Governor's Drive to the Clubhouse. This distance features electronic chip timing. Participants in the 5k are eligible for overall male and female awards, as well as age group recognition for categories spanning from ages 1 to 99. Results are posted on-site and through online platforms.
The 1k Kids Run is an out-and-back route starting and ending at the Clubhouse. While this distance is not timed, the top three boys and girls receive acknowledgment. Every child who finishes the 1k receives a medal.
All registrants for either distance receive a t-shirt. Packet pickup is available at the clubhouse on the Wednesday before the race or on race day morning. The event proceeds are donated to charity to assist community members experiencing difficult times. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
