Event overview
The Rock the Quarry Triathlon and Mile Swim is scheduled for Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Fidler Pond Park in Goshen, Indiana. The event returns as the 11th annual edition and uses a pond that was formerly a rock quarry. Swimming in the quarry is permitted only on this event day.
Courses and format
The event offers a sprint triathlon and a separate mile swim event. The sprint triathlon consists of a 500-yard open-water swim on a triangular counter-clockwise course that begins and ends at the same point, a 15.8-mile bike on a flat out-and-back route through an industrial park and into the country to Millersburg and back, and a 5K run made of two laps (3.1 miles) on the flat aggregate track that encircles Fidler Pond. The mile swim is set as a counter-clockwise course tracing the pond perimeter; swimmers are chip-timed and timing ends when a swimmer crosses a timing mat placed on land at the swim exit.
