Ugly Sweater 5K Run/Walk or 1 Mile Stroll : Elkhart, IN
The event is scheduled for December 5, 2026 at North Side Middle School, 300 Lawrence, Elkhart, IN. It offers two participation options:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1 Mile Stroll
Costumes and ugly sweaters are encouraged. The 5K is a timed entry and the 1 Mile Stroll is noncompetitive and untimed. Entry for the 5K includes a knit cap; the 1 Mile Stroll has a reduced untimed entry fee. Student pricing is available. New for 2026 are finisher medals for all participants and costume prizes. Awards include finisher medals for everyone and multiple costume award categories; there are no age group awards noted.
Packet pickup is listed for Friday, December 5 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Elkhart Health & Aquatics, 200 East Jackson, in the community area. Participants may pick up packets for others. The race begins and ends at North Side Middle School, which offers indoor restrooms and a large gym area for waiting before and after the route.
The course features 15 spirit stations staffed by local groups, with a cash prize for competing groups and a runner vote for best spirit station. Monster Message will provide music and display real time finish times. There is plentiful parking at the school. Local winter activities and nearby breakfast fundraisers are noted for the same day.
