Ugly Sweater 5K Run or Walk and Sweater Stroll 2026
The Elkhart Education Foundation presents the annual Ugly Sweater event in Elkhart, Indiana, held at North Side Middle School, 300 East Lawrence. The program includes a timed 5 km run or walk and an untimed 1.5 mile Sweater Stroll.

The 1.5 mile course was revised for 2026 to include Wellfield Gardens; dogs are not allowed inside that park, so they are not permitted on that route. Dogs may accompany participants on the 5 km if they are suitable for that distance. The venue provides a gym for staying warm before and after the event and plenty of free parking at North Side Middle School, with entry and exit directed from the Bristol Street side.
Race entry includes a choice of hat, finisher medals for everyone, costume awards, course support, and post race hot cocoa and treats. Additional on site amenities noted by the organizer include a photo booth, a student led food truck offering hot chocolate for $3, granola bars, and water. Packet pickup and onsite registration are scheduled the day before at Elkhart Health & Aquatics and the morning of the event at North Side Middle School. Volunteers are needed to support the event.
