Faith Mission Turkey Stampede
The Faith Mission Turkey Stampede is a Thanksgiving day running event held on Thursday, November 26, 2026 in Elkhart, Indiana at Elkhart Health & Aquatics, 200 East Jackson. The event uses the Elkhart Health & Aquatics facility as its home base and notes that construction may require modifications to the start line.
Distances offered
- 10K
- 5K run
- 5K walk
- One mile walk
The 10K and 5K entries are timed using a chip start so an official time begins when a runner crosses the timing mat. The event is started with a countdown on a large screen rather than a starter pistol. Results are displayed on a jumbotron Monster Message and can be posted live; participants can also opt in for text results. Finisher videos are available from the results page.
All finishers receive a medal located just past the cocoa truck. There is no formal awards ceremony and no age group awards, although the top three male and female finishers in the 10K and 5K receive gravy boats.
Packet pickup is available on multiple days and locations in the region prior to race day and also on race morning at Elkhart Health & Aquatics. Race shirts are optional for an additional fee and are offered in a long sleeve performance option or a short sleeve cotton rayon poly blend for the same price.
A novelty contest called Catch the Turkey awards cash to the first male and female to catch a costumed turkey runner in the 5K; the turkey receives a head start and participants are asked not to touch the turkey runner. Volunteers are needed for race day and packet stuffing the week before. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
