Multisport Races at Roadford Lake
The Roadford Lake Triathlon takes place at Roadford Lake in Broadwoodwidger, Lifton. This British Triathlon permitted event features a variety of multisport options including triathlon, aquabike, and aquathlon. The competition utilizes the lake for the swim portion, while the bike course follows quiet rolling roads that have historically hosted the National Masters Road Race Championships. The run section is held on a traffic-free course with recent updates to the route and the finish area layout.
Participants can choose from several distance categories:
- 70.3 Distance Triathlon: 1900m swim, 92k bike (2 laps), and 20k run (4 laps).
- Standard Triathlon: 1500m swim (2 laps), 46k bike (1 lap), and 10k run (2 laps).
- Sprint Triathlon: 750m swim, 20k bike, and 5k run.
- Standard Aquabike: 1500m swim (2 laps) and 46k bike (1 lap).
- Sprint Aquabike: 750m swim and 20k bike.
- Sprint Aquathlon: 750m swim and 5k run.
- Team Relays: Available for both Standard and Sprint triathlon distances.
All registered athletes receive professional chip timing, silicone swim hats, and medals upon completion. The course is fully marked and marshalled, with feed stations provided. Safety is managed by professional first aid and water safety teams. For those staying overnight, lakeside camping is available at the venue.
