The Langstone Fell Race is a revived classic in the Dartmoor Fell Series, starting from Peter Tavy Village Hall. This challenging course covers just under 10 km with 387 m of ascent across moorland tors and a fast 4 km descent to the finish. It also features junior races held before the main event.

Overview

The Langstone Fell Race is a fell running event in Devon, starting and finishing at Peter Tavy Village Hall. It is the third event in the Dartmoor Fell Series. The race had a revival in recent years.

Course Details

The course is just under 10 km long with 387 m of ascent. It starts from the village hall, following a winding lane that rises steeply and narrows to a gap, then crosses a narrow bridge. The route goes onto moorland, passing Gt Combe Tor and Cox Tor (where a marshal will be at the summit trig point), before heading to Langstone Standing Stone. The final section is described as a very fast descent of about 4 km, passing Boulters Tor, finishing across fields by the village hall.

Event Information

Parking for the event is available in farmers' fields. The course record is 43 minutes and 56 seconds. Junior races are scheduled to take place approximately 30 minutes before the senior race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
