Rivington Duathlon

Rivington Duathlon is a run, bike, run multi-sport event set in the West Pennine Moors around Rivington. The race uses local trails and quiet roads and starts and finishes at Rivington & Blackrod High School, Rivington Lane, Bolton, Lancashire BL6 7RU.

The course combines off-road trail sections and a road cycling loop. The trail runs follow paths toward Rivington Pike with mixed and uneven terrain underfoot; signage and marshals are provided along the route. The road bike stage is a single loop passing through local lanes and villages, with climbs and descents and marshals in place on the route.

Distances:

• 5.6 km run, mainly off-road trail paths
• 37.2 km bike, single road loop with climbs and descents
• 5.6 km run, repeat of the opening trail section

Entries are offered for solo competitors and pairs or relay teams. The event includes aid stations, course support, electronic timing, online results, a custom finishers medal, free photos/video, and free onsite parking. Volunteers support course management and marshaling. Participant profiles include experienced duathletes, triathletes preparing for the season, and athletes new to multi-sport racing.
