Lee Mill Relays
An annual relay event held at the Lee Mill Quarry site in Rossendale, Lancashire. The event is organised as teams of four runners, with each team member running individually over a flagged course of approximately 10.7 km (about 6.6 miles) that includes around 340 m of climb. The venue is listed at grid reference SD866211 and race base information references Stubbylee Hall.
The course is described as hard and demanding and may be run in wintery conditions. Competitors must carry full kit, including a full waterproof bodycover, hat, gloves, compass and whistle; organisers conduct stringent kit checks. A map of the course is provided on registering.
Entry is by team, with a stated entry fee of £28 per team. Pre-entry is available and entries on the day may be accepted if the event limit is not reached. The event limits entries to 120 teams and maintains a waiting list when full. Minimum age for competitors is 18. Clubs may enter teams and may delay declaring individual runners until nearer the race date.
The event holds a permit and associated UK Athletics insurance from the FRA. Recorded team course times from previous years are listed for reference. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
