Event Overview

The Lee Mill Relays is a team based running event held at the Lee Mill Quarry site in Rossendale, Lancashire. The competition is designed for teams of four runners, with categories available for men, ladies, and mixed groups. Each of the four participants runs the course individually.

The race takes place on a 10.7 km route that follows a flagged path through the quarry terrain. Because the event is held in late November, participants may encounter wintery weather conditions. Due to the nature of the course, specific safety requirements are in effect for all athletes.

Gear and Participation

Safety is a priority for this event, and all competitors are required to carry a full kit. This includes:

  • Full waterproof body cover
  • Hat and gloves
  • Compass and whistle

Each runner will undergo a kit check to ensure these items are present. Upon registration on the day of the event, participants receive a map of the course.

Clubs have the option to enter teams without immediately naming individual runners, as long as the participants are declared closer to the race date. There is a total limit of 120 teams for the event. If this limit is not reached through pre-entries, registration may be available on the day of the race. The event starts at Stubbylee Hall. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
