River City Summer Slam
The River City Summer Slam is the 4th annual multi-day ride presented by the Major Taylor Cycling Club of North Florida. It is scheduled to take place at Navy Lodge Mayport and the Mayport Naval Station in Jacksonville, Florida from July 30 to August 2, 2026. The event weekend includes organized road rides, a 5K beach run walk, a Kids Fun Ride, and additional social activities.
Participants can choose among three road route options:
- 65 miles
- 37 miles
- 22 miles
Registration includes a commemorative t shirt, event packet home delivery when requested, number bib, safety pins, wristband, printed route map, and cue sheet. On-course services listed for riders include fully stocked rest stops, on course mobile support, and route markings. Important registration dates: last day to order a t shirt is May 10, last day for guaranteed packet home delivery is July 5, and the final registration day is July 17. T shirt quantities and sizes are limited and may not be available after the cutoff dates.
Base access requires that participants without an active military ID provide date of birth and the last four digits of their social security number during registration. The event is rain or shine with no refunds or transfers; organizers may delay or cancel activities for severe or dangerous weather. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
