BHI 2nd Annual 5K and Fun Run
The BHI 2nd Annual 5K and Fun Run takes place on Black Hammock Island on August 1, 2026. The course is held entirely on the island and both events start and finish at the Black Hammock Island Community Center, 15770 Sawpit Road, Jacksonville, FL 32226. Participants may run or walk either event.
Distances:
- 5K (3.1 Miles)
- Fun Run (1 Mile)
Race registration opens in December 2025 and closes in late July or on race day depending on the event. Registration fees are listed for each event. Registration includes a short sleeve T shirt, a finisher medal, and access to a post race back to school bash. Packet pickup is scheduled for race morning at the Black Hammock Island Community Center.
Awards are specific to the 5K. Trophies or medals will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers of the 5K. Additional awards will be given to the first male and first female finishers in the following age groups: 12 and under, 13 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, and 60 and over.
