Kilwins Ice Cream Run
The Kilwins Ice Cream Run is a community running event in the Beachwalk community in St Johns County, Florida, on CR210 just east of Interstate 95. The event offers multiple distances and family-oriented activities centered around Kilwins at Beachwalk.
Distances:
- 5K - large loop around the Beachwalk community using the 12 foot pedestrian trail.
- One mile - out-and-back course starting and finishing at the 5K inflatable.
- 25 yard dash for children, held in front of Kilwins in the park lot.
Race features include Kilwins Original Recipe ice cream served after the race, tank tops to entrants, medals for all finishers, and overall and age-group awards. Top overall prizes include a year of Kilwins ice cream and Kilwins gift cards; age-group awards include an ice cream scooper and plaques. Age groups range from 10 and under through 80 and over in standard five-year increments.
Packets are available for pickup at multiple 1st Place Sports locations and at Kilwins St Johns, with race day pickup in front of Kilwins at Beachwalk. Entry fees vary by distance and registration date; fees are nonrefundable. Fundraising and team entry options are available, with teams requiring three members to form and team categories for family, friends, and corporate groups. Proceeds benefit several nonprofit organizations, including PIE IN THE SKY COMMUNITY ALLIANCE, Isaiah 117 House, Prestige Workforce, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, Mercy Support Services, and local school PTAs and athletic programs.
