Retriever 5k Dawg Chase and Fun Run

The Retriever 5k Dawg Chase and Fun Run is an athletic event held at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) as part of the homecoming celebrations. The event utilizes the campus grounds, with both featured routes starting and ending at the Albin O. Kuhn Library. Participation is limited to a maximum of 250 individuals.

The event offers two distinct distances:

5K (3.1 miles) running race
Family Fun Run (1 mile) walking route

The 1 mile route is designed for a leisure pace and is open to families and pets. Registration is available for various groups, including current UMBC students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends. Participants under the age of 17 must be accompanied and registered by an adult. The 5k route is designed to accommodate different paces and styles, focusing on community participation.

Registration fees vary based on affiliation, with specific rates for students and flexible options for families. There is a registration presence on-site on the day of the event, provided that the participant cap has not been reached.
