Police Pace 5K, 10K & 1 Miler
Police Pace is a fundraising run in Ellicott City organized in partnership with the Howard County Police Foundation to benefit the Howard County Police Department. A portion of registration fees is donated to the foundation to support programs, special equipment, youth initiatives, and scholarships not covered by the department budget.
The event offers the following distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- 10K relay (2 people)
- 1 Miler
Race registration includes a participant shirt and a finisher medal; registering by Aug 15 guarantees a shirt. Packet pick up is available at the venue the day before and on race day. Bib tag timing is used with the timing chip affixed to the back of the bib; results are posted online in real time.
Participation rules note age minimums for the longer races: runners must be at least 7 years old for the 5K and 10 years old for the 10K; the 1 Miler is open to all ages. Pets, baby joggers and strollers, in-line skates, bicycles, and other non-official wheeled vehicles are prohibited on the course. Two water stations are located on the run course. Awards are presented for overall and age group placements and must be accepted in person; awards are not mailed.
