Police Pace - 5K, 10K & 1 Miler
Police Pace is a community running event held at Centennial Park South Entrance in Ellicott City, MD, organized to benefit the Howard County Police Foundation and support the Howard County Police Department with programs, equipment, youth initiatives, and scholarships not covered by the annual budget. A portion of all registration fees is donated to the Police Foundation.
Race options include:
- 5K
- 10K
- 10K Relay (2 people)
- 1 Miler
Registration for the distances includes a participant shirt and a finisher medal, and earlier registration guarantees a shirt. Packet pick-up is available at the race venue the day before and the morning of the event. Bib tag timing is used, with the timing chip affixed to the back of the bib, and results are posted online in real time.
Course and race logistics note that the start and finish are in a grass field under an inflatable arch, the 1 Miler joins the main course partway through and finishes under the arch, porta-potties are stationed near start and finish, and there are two water stations on the run course. Participants may park inside Centennial Park in public spaces, with additional parking along Route 108. Pets, baby joggers and strollers, in-line skates, bicycles, and other non-official wheeled vehicles are prohibited. Awards are presented in multiple overall and age group categories and must be accepted in person. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
