Sowebo Gateway 5K
The Sowebo Gateway 5K is a community 5K run held in Southwest Baltimore on 09/26/2026 with a start and finish area near Middle Branch Park at 3301 Waterview Ave, Baltimore, MD 21230. There are two registration options listed: a standard 5K and a SoWebo Gateway 5K with stroller. Registration opens 05/06/2026 and closes 06/30/2026; the published registration fee is $30.00.
The course begins on the trail near the playground at Middle Branch Park, continues past the Baltimore Rowing Center onto Waterview Avenue, turns onto Kloman Street, and proceeds past recent townhouse and park development before a turnaround. Runners return to Middle Branch Park via the waterside trail, pass beneath the Hanover Street Bridge toward the Maryland Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and loop back along a park trail to the finish.
Event amenities include refreshments and music after the race, an awards ceremony, and a resource and vendor fair on site. All 5K participants receive SoweboGateway5K t-shirts. Awards include medals for first, second, and third overall male and female finishers, medals in 13 male and 13 female age categories, and awards in the stroller category.
The event is presented with community partners and notes a multiyear legacy and a collaboration with the South Baltimore Gateway Partnership. Proceeds support youth sports, wellness programming, and community-based initiatives led by the Southwest Sports and Fitness Alliance.
