Event Overview
The Raffle Run is a run-walk event held at Veterans Park in Hoover, Alabama. Its primary feature is a prize giveaway worth around $2,500, where participants earn raffle tickets through their running effort.
Format and Rules
Participants have a total of 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete as many laps as they can on a marked, approximately 1.25-mile loop course. The course winds through Veterans Park and consists of both paved surfaces and trails.
Upon completing each lap, runners receive a raffle ticket corresponding to one of five available prizes. There is no limit to the number of tickets a participant can earn for any single prize. Tickets are only earned during the event and are not for sale.
To collect tickets, runners must wear a provided wristband visibly on their wrist. The wristband is received at packet pickup on race day, which occurs at the start/finish line pavilion. At the end of their final lap, runners return the wristband in exchange for their final raffle ticket and a finisher's medal.
Prizes and Drawing
Five prizes will be given away in a drawing at 8:45 AM. To win, a participant must be present and present the matching raffle ticket. The prizes are:
- Carnival Cruise Lines $500 Gift Card
- Southwest Airlines $500 Gift Card
- $600 Cash (awarded as three prizes of $200 each)
- 10 ounces of pure silver (awarded as two prizes of 5 ounces each)
- 1/10 ounce of pure gold
Additional Information
A water station is provided at the start/finish line area. Parking and restrooms are available on-site. Entry transfers and deferrals to the following year's event are permitted, but no refunds are offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
