Raffle Run
The Raffle Run is the third annual lap-based event held at Veterans Park in Hoover, Alabama, at 4800 Valleydale Road. The event offers multiple formats, including:
- 5K Run
- 10K Run
- Timed 1.5 hour run
The timed format gives participants 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete as many approximately 1-mile laps as they can on a marked course that uses both paved surfaces and trails. Runners receive a custom wristband at race-day packet pickup at the start/finish pavilion by the playground; the wristband must be visible and returned on the final lap in exchange for the final raffle ticket and finisher's medal.
Raffle tickets are earned only by completing laps and are not for sale. After each completed lap a participant may collect a ticket at the table for the prize they choose; there is no limit to how many tickets a runner can earn for any prize. Five cash prizes are drawn at the conclusion of the event with total cash awards of $2,500 divided as $900, $700, $500, $300, and $100. After those drawings, all tickets are combined for one final drawing of a mystery prize with an approximate value of $500.
One water station is provided at the start/finish area. No food is provided. The listed registration fee is $50. Refunds are not offered; entries may be transferred or deferred to the next year by contacting the event organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
