Event Overview
The INDY 5K is a timed race held on March 27, 2026, at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama. The event features a 5K race that takes place on the park's 17-turn road course. There is also a "Sleep In" option. The event benefits Children's of Alabama.
Location and Course
The race is held at Barber Motorsports Park, with the address 6040 Barber Motorsports Parkway, Birmingham, AL 35094. The 5K course is USATF certified. Participants start on the race track at Turn 10, following a short walk from the registration area. There is a water station at the halfway mark of the course.
Event Details
Registration and packet pickup are available in advance at the Hampton Inn in Leeds, Alabama, or on race day at Barber Motorsports Park (Lot E). A printed registration confirmation is required for entry and parking in Lot E.
The entry fee for the 5K includes a finisher medal, a t-shirt (guaranteed for the first 550 registrants), chip timing, a Friday general admission ticket to the Children's of Alabama Indy Grand Prix, an onsite parking pass, a swag bag, and entry to a post-race party. All 5K participants must sign a waiver and receive a wristband to be on the track.
Awards and Policies
Awards are given for overall male and female winners and the top three in standard 10-year age groups, based on gun time. Prizes include gift cards from Fleet Feet. Pets are not allowed at the venue.
The entry fee is non-refundable. The event will be held regardless of weather, though it may be cancelled in extreme circumstances, in which case entry fees become a donation to Children's of Alabama. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
