The INDY 5K presented by BlueCross BlueShield of Alabama is scheduled for March 27, 2026 at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, AL (6040 Barber Motorsports Parkway, 35094). The event program lists two event options: a 5K and a Sleep In option. The 5K uses the park's 17-turn road course and is a USATF certified 5K course (AL19010JE) with chip timing.
Race entry includes an INDY 5K finisher medal, race t-shirt (first 550 registered guaranteed a shirt while supplies last), a swag bag, one onsite parking pass, Friday general admission to the Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix, and one entry to the Indy 5K post-race party. Packet pickup is available before race day at a Hampton Inn location and onsite in Lot E at Barber Motorsports Park; participants must show a printed registration confirmation to enter and park in Lot E. All 5K participants must sign a waiver at packet pickup to receive a wristband permitting access to the track; state-issued ID is required for the additional 21+ wristband for adult beverages.
The event benefits Children’s of Alabama. Water stations are located at the start, the halfway mark, and the finish. Pets are not allowed at Barber Motorsports Park. Awards are given by gun time for overall and 10-year age groups as listed in the event information. The entry fee is non-refundable; transfers are allowed online until March 20, 2026.
