Oak Mountain 50K / 25K & 6 Mile
The Oak Mountain event on April 3, 2027 is the 26th annual running of these trail distances. The program offers three courses: a 50K, a 25K, and a 6 mile race. The courses run on the Pinhoti trail through forested hills and are mostly single track with no repeating loops.
The 50K route includes two climbs up to the top of Double Oak Mountain. Each climb reaches about 600 ft of elevation and the 50K has roughly 3900 ft of total climbing. Runners have a 9 hours 30 minutes cutoff to complete the 50K.
Packet and bib pickup is located at the Dogwood Pavilion / South Trailhead. Course resources are provided, including course maps for each distance, GPX files, a runner's handbook, and aid station mileage and cutoff information.
The event is described as the second oldest 50K in Alabama. The setting is forested trail terrain on Oak Mountain and sections of the Pinhoti trail.
