Oak Mountain 50K : March 28, 2026, Pelham, AL

The event offers three distances:

  • 50K
  • 25K
  • 6 Miler

Races take place at Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Alabama. The course follows mostly single-track trails and includes two climbs up to the top of Double Oak Mountain. The route passes Peavine Falls, a naturally fed waterfall of about 65 feet, and goes by Maggie's Glen and Shackleford Point, the park high point at 1,260 ft. The 50K has no repeating loops and an approximate elevation gain of 3,600 feet. Time limits are 9 hours 30 minutes for the 50K and 9 hours for the 25K. Packet pickup is at the Dogwood Pavilion on race morning.

Course details, aid, fees and rules

The 50K course includes aid at the North Trailhead and Peavine Falls parking area, with four manned aid stations and several water-only points. The 25K includes aid at the North Trailhead and water stops. Parking and restrooms are available at the Dogwood Pavilion (GPS 33.3226442, -86.7622678). Park entrance passes are charged at the gate - fees vary by age and military status. Race policies note no refunds, no race-day registration, no entry transfers, and no deferrals. Strollers, animals, bicycles, and unentered runners are not allowed on course; pets should be kept at least 50 feet from aid stations and start/finish areas. Results will be posted online.
