Race to End Women's Cancer
The Foundation for Women's Cancer hosts this athletic event in Washington, DC, at Freedom Plaza. The gathering includes both in-person and virtual participation options to support gynocologic cancer awareness and research. The primary event site features a celebration zone with live music, a photo booth, and a costume contest.
Participants can choose from several physical and virtual distances:
- 5K Run/Walk: A professionally timed 3.11 mile course through the city.
- 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk: An untimed 1 mile route for participants moving at their own pace.
- Virtual 5K: A 3.11 mile distance for those participating from any location.
- Virtual 1M: A 1 mile distance for those participating from any location.
The in-person event includes a dedicated survivor's tent and specific moments for survivor recognition throughout the morning. The venue also hosts an advocacy area with sponsors and inspirational speakers. Formal programs are held both before and after the physical races. Registration is open to all ages and abilities, and individuals may participate as solo entrants or as part of a team.
The event includes exclusive race swag for participants. For those attending in person, the race day activities conclude around midday following the post-race program. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
