Race to End Women’s Cancer
The Race to End Women’s Cancer is the Foundation for Women’s Cancer signature Move4Her event. It takes place on September 20, 2026 at Freedom Plaza in Washington, D.C., located along Pennsylvania Avenue NW between 13th and 14th Streets. The event brings together survivors, caregivers, healthcare professionals, advocates, and families to support research and education on gynecologic cancers. Every registration and dollar raised supports prevention, early detection, and treatment efforts.
Event options include a mix of in-person and virtual participation:
- 5K Run: chip-timed 5K through the heart of Washington, D.C.
- 1 Mile Walk: accessible route for participants of all ages and abilities.
- Kids Fun Run (100 m): for children ages 12 and under; includes t-shirt, bib, and a kid-friendly finisher medal.
- Virtual: complete a 5K or 1 mile from anywhere and receive a race tee, finisher medal, and digital bib.
The Kids Fun Run includes pre-race family activities such as face painting, crafts, sign-making, and a photo booth; adult supervision is required for children. Strollers and leashed four-legged companions are welcome on site.
A Survivor Tent provides a dedicated space to honor survivors with a ribbon wall installation, recorded survivor stories, educational materials, giveaways, a photo backdrop, shaded seating, and light snacks. Team fundraising options are available so groups can create team pages, set shared goals, and track collective fundraising. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
