Race to End Women’s Cancer
The Race to End Women’s Cancer is the Foundation for Women’s Cancer signature Move4Her event held in Washington, D.C. on September 12, 2027 at Freedom Plaza on Pennsylvania Avenue NW between 13th and 14th Streets. The event brings together survivors, caregivers, healthcare professionals, advocates, and families to raise awareness and fund research and education focused on prevention, early detection, and treatment of gynecologic cancers.
Event formats include a chip timed 5K through central Washington, a 1 mile walk on an accessible route, a 100 meter Kids Fun Run for ages 12 and under, and virtual participation options. Virtual participants receive an official race tee, finisher medal, and digital bib. Strollers and leashed four‑legged companions are welcome at the event.
On site, the Survivor Tent offers a ribbon wall installation, recorded survivor stories, educational materials on prevention and survivorship, giveaways and keepsakes, a photo backdrop, shaded seating, light snacks, and water. Participants may dedicate names to the Move4Her Virtual Ribbon Wall and add physical ribbons at Freedom Plaza. The Foundation recommends traveling by Metro; the closest station is Federal Triangle.
