Race Against Human Trafficking
The Race Against Human Trafficking is a community athletic event held at the Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino in New Mexico. Organized by the non-profit organization Plant A Seed, the event serves to raise awareness and support efforts against human exploitation. The event provides multiple participation options to accommodate various preferences.
Participants can choose from several distances and formats:
- 10K
- 5K
- 1 mile fun run
- Virtual 5K
The 10K distance is a new addition for the 2026 edition of the event. For those unable to attend the physical location in Sunland Park, the Virtual 5K option allows individuals to participate and contribute from any location.
All participants are assigned a race bib for timing purposes. Organizers require bibs to be worn visibly on the front of the torso and kept in their original condition to ensure the timing equipment records results accurately. Transferring bibs to other individuals is prohibited for safety and medical reasons; participants identified using another person's bib face disqualification.
The event is powered by Plant A Seed, an organization focusing on support for underserved communities. While race entry fees are non-refundable, the organizers may allow transfers to other scheduled events for a fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
