Overview
Pups & Pastries is a dog-friendly running event supporting Second Chance Pet Adoptions. The in-person event takes place at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina, on September 12, 2026.
Events
Participants can choose from several race options. In-person events include the Doggie Dash 5K and 6.5 Mile, where owners can run with their dogs for an additional $10 fee that goes entirely to the charity. There are also regular 5K and 6.5 Mile races without dogs. A shorter Fun Mile and a Kids in Strollers category (for children aged 4 and under) are available. Virtual versions of the 5K, 6.5 Mile, and Fun Mile are also offered.
Charity
The event raises funds for Second Chance Pet Adoptions, a no-kill animal rescue organization in the Triangle area.
Event Details
All participants in the 5K and 6.5 Mile events receive a shirt and a finisher's medal if registered by August 30, 2026. Fun Mile participants receive a medal. Dogs are only permitted in the designated Doggie Dash events and must be registered, leashed, and limited to one dog per runner. Children aged 12 and under are not allowed in the Doggie Dash events.
