Punk Panther Green Gateways
This trail running event in Otley offers two distances linked to the Green Gateways route around North Leeds. The course follows parks and public green spaces and includes sections on The Chevin, Yeadon Banks, Yeadon Tarn and Danefield Woods. The Marathon additionally visits The Billing and includes a riverside section along the River Aire.
Distances:
- 14.0 miles half marathon route, about 1535 feet climb
- 26.2 miles marathon route, about 3276 feet climb
The race is based in Otley with registration and the finish at The Bridge United Reform Church, Cattlemarket Street, Otley LS21 1RW. A nearby car park is provided at Craftsman Tools, Bremner Street, LS21 1JD. Maximum field size is 200 entrants and the minimum age is 18. Entries are not accepted on the day.
There are three checkpoints on the marathon route; the half marathon visits the middle checkpoint only. Checkpoints provide drinks and snacks with vegan and gluten free options. Competitors who arrive at a checkpoint after it has closed will be retired from the race.
All marathon entrants receive a tracker; half marathon runners may hire a tracker. Trackers include an emergency button and show competitor positions on the event tracker screen. A compulsory kit list applies to all distances and random kit checks may lead to disqualification if required items are missing. Dogs may run subject to the event rules but are not allowed inside registration or the finish building. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
