Punk Panther New Year Half & Marathon
This is a trail running event in Otley on Saturday 2 January 2027 based on the Green Gateways route around North Leeds. The event offers two distances and is organised with checkpoints, mandatory kit requirements and finish facilities.

- 14.0 miles (1535 feet climb)
- 26.2 miles (3276 feet climb)
The route follows the Green Gateways long distance walk and visits The Chevin, Yeadon Banks, Yeadon Tarn and Danefield Woods. The marathon route also includes The Billing and a section along the River Aire. Routes are taped and provisional GPX files and a route description are provided; competitors should not rely solely on taped markings.
There are three checkpoints on the marathon route and one checkpoint on the half marathon route. Checkpoints supply drinks, energy bars and snacks with vegan and gluten free options. Each checkpoint has opening and cut off times; arriving after a cut off will result in retirement from the race.
All marathon entrants receive a tracker; half marathon runners may hire a tracker for a fee. Trackers are visible on the event tracker screen and include an emergency button. Competitors must carry specified kit items and may be subject to random kit checks; failure to carry required kit can lead to disqualification.
Registration and finish are at The Bridge United Reform Church side entrance in Otley. The event has a minimum age of 18, a maximum of 200 entrants, and does not accept entries on the day. Every finisher receives a medal and an event T shirt unless they opt out. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
