Punk Panther New Year Half & Marathon
This trail event takes place on Saturday 2 January 2027 in Otley, based at Otley Cricket Club. It follows the Green Gateways route around North Leeds and visits The Chevin, Yeadon Banks, Yeadon Tarn and Danefield Woods. The Marathon route also includes The Billing and a section along the River Aire.
Distances:
- 14.0 miles half marathon, climb 1535 feet
- 26.2 miles marathon, climb 3276 feet
Entries open on 1 July 2026 and close on 6 December 2026. Entry fees are tiered: Marathon £55 rising to £62.50 from 01/09/2026; Half Marathon £30 rising to £32.50 from 01/09/2026. Minimum age is 18 and the event is limited to 200 entrants. Entries are not accepted on the day.
There are three checkpoints in total. The marathon visits all three checkpoints and the half marathon visits the middle checkpoint. Checkpoints offer drinks and snacks with vegan and gluten free options. Marathon entrants receive a tracker; half marathon runners may hire a tracker for £15. Routes will be taped before the race and provisional GPX files and route descriptions are available; final instructions will be issued before the event.
Runners must carry mandatory kit for safety including a waterproof jacket, cup, survival bag, whistle, mobile phone with the race director number stored, and the supplied tracker for marathon entrants. Every finisher receives a medal and an event T-shirt unless they opt out. Dogs are allowed on the course subject to race rules but are not permitted inside registration or the finish area.
