Heights Ultra Trail (HUTFEST26)
Heights Ultra Trail is a charity trail running festival in the Colne Valley, Huddersfield, taking place at Broad Oak Cricket Club, Linthwaite, HD7 5TE on Saturday 19 September 2026. The event is volunteer run and raises funds for local rural primary schools and local rescue teams.
The event offers a range of trail races and challenges over moorland, reservoirs, and Pennine trails. Routes are fully waymarked with HUT signage, arrows, and flags, ultra entries include a waterproof route map, and open moorland sections require awareness and basic navigation skills. Signage begins at about 3.5 km on the longer routes and the final 4 km back to the finish is heavily marked.

Checkpoints and feed stations are located at Holme Village, Wessenden Head, and Clough Head, with additional water stations on course. Feed stations provide sandwiches, fruit, cakes, hot food, and hot and cold drinks. All events are licensed by the TRA under UKA rules.
Mandatory kit for the 50 Mile and 50 km events includes a waterproof jacket with taped seams, waterproof trousers, long sleeve top, hat and gloves, water container or mug, compass and whistle, bivy bag, mobile phone for emergency use only with no GPS navigation, money, and a torch for the 50 Mile event. Kit checks take place at the start and finish, and failure to carry required kit may lead to disqualification.
Transport notes: main parking is available at the event centre, car sharing is encouraged, the nearest station is Slaithwaite with a 10 minute connection to buses or a 1.8 mile walk, and Huddersfield bus routes 181 and 183 stop near the venue.
