Leeds Country Way In A Day 100km
The Leeds Country Way In a Day 100km is a full circumnavigation of the city of Leeds using the LCW footpaths. The route is approximately 100 km and passes through neighbouring villages, parks and nature reserves. Although the route lies within about 10 km of central Leeds, much of it is rural with views to West and North Yorkshire.
The course surface is roughly 80% trail and 20% road or tarmac. Weather in the week before the event can significantly alter underfoot conditions. The official LCW is waymarked with Owl plaques and signposts; a mandatory GPX file is available and runners are responsible for navigating the course.
Support is provided at nine checkpoints along the route, with food and drink available at those points. Event services include bag transport and storage, race photography, a wooden finishers medal, first aid and DNF transport. Toilets are available at the start, finish, Garforth and Woodkirk. Small non-returnable drop bags may be left at Garforth and Woodkirk.
