Leeds Country Way In a Day 100km
The Leeds Country Way In a Day is a full circumnavigation of the city of Leeds following the waymarked LCW footpaths. The route covers approximately 100 km and visits neighbouring villages, parks and nature reserves. The course is mainly rural despite being close to the city and follows public rights of way including footpaths, bridleways and minor lanes with some short road sections. Terrain is roughly 80% trail and 20% road, and recent weather can alter underfoot conditions.
Support is provided at nine checkpoints along the route with food and drink, bag transport and storage, race photography, first aid and a wooden medal for finishers. Free DNF transport is available after 20:00. Mandatory GPX is available and participants are responsible for navigation; LCW is waymarked with owl plaques and signposts.
Registration is available on Friday evening and on the race day. Cutoffs are applied at specific checkpoints. Small non-returnable drop bags may be left at Garforth and Woodkirk. Toilets are available at the start, finish, Garforth and Woodkirk.
Participants must carry required kit including a phone or watch with the GPX route and sufficient battery, a headtorch, waterproof jacket, survival blanket, warm hat and capacity for 1 litre of water. Entry requires at least a completed marathon. Crew and a single pacer are permitted under stated rules. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
