Yorkshireman Off Road Marathon and Half Marathon
The Yorkshireman is an off road running event organised by Keighley and Craven Athletics Club on 13 September 2026 in Bronte Country. It offers a full marathon and a half marathon over primarily moorland, trails and woods, and it is run under Fell Runners Association rules.
Distances
- 26.2 miles full marathon, 3065 ft ascent
- 14.8 miles half marathon, 1750 ft ascent
Both races use live chip timing and have marked routes. Mandatory FRA minimum kit applies to both events and route maps are sold for a small fee. Free guided reconnaissance runs are organised in July and August and waterproof route maps are available at those runs.
Feed stations and finish facilities are provided. The half marathon has two feed stations at about 8.2 miles and 12.3 miles. The full marathon has five feed stations at about 8.2, 15.3, 18.4, 21.7 and 23.9 miles with a wider range of items at later stations. Hot drinks and hot food are available at the finish and catering includes vegan and gluten free options.
Pairs entries are accepted in the full marathon only with male, female and mixed categories and awards for category winners. The event is volunteer led, uses charitable accounting for any surplus, and operates a waiting list when entries are full. Entrant services include optional race clothing at an extra cost, free deferrals up to 31 July 2026, and free substitutions until 15 August 2026. No refunds are issued except in specific pregnancy related circumstances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
