Event Overview
The Yorkshireman Off Road Full and Half Marathon takes place on September 13, 2026. It is the 33rd edition of the event, which traverses Bronte Country. The race is organized by Keighley and Craven Athletics Club and is run under Fell Runners Association (FRA) rules.
Distances and Terrain
The event offers two off-road distances.
- The full marathon covers 26.2 miles with 3065 feet of ascent.
- The half marathon is 14.8 miles with 1750 feet of ascent.
Both courses require runners to carry mandatory kit. The half marathon is categorised as 'BL' and the full as 'CL' under FRA rules.
Entry Details
Entry for 2026 costs £22 until October 3, 2025, then £26.50. The same fee applies to both races, and free swaps between distances are allowed. Discounts are available for Fell Runners Association members and for participants under 25 on race day. The event offers 10 free places each year for active members of UK Mountain or Fell Rescue teams.
Event Features
The race features chip timing and live web updates as runners pass feed stations and the finish. There are multiple fully stocked feed stations offering water, squash, cola, fruit, chocolate, and other items. Early starts are available for slower runners or walkers, with strict cut-off times applied at various points on the course.
Hot and cold drinks are provided at the start and finish. A hot meal, such as pizza or vegan/gluten-free pasta, is included in the entry fee for all finishers. The event supports sheRACES and reports high female participation rates. Free, guided recce runs on parts of the course are organized during the summer.
Additional Information
Participants can defer their entry for free until July 31 or substitute their entry for free until August 15. No refunds are given. Optional race clothing, including short-sleeve and long-sleeve t-shirts, hoodies, and 'zoodies', is available for purchase.
