Yorkshireman Off Road Marathon & Half Marathon
The event features two off road races over moorland, trails and woods, organised under Fell Runners Association rules with a mandatory minimum kit requirement. The route is waymarked, runners are recommended to recce the course, and maps are available for purchase for £2.50. Free guided recce runs are offered in July and August.
Distances:
- Marathon: 26.2 miles, 3065 feet ascent
- Half Marathon: about 14.8 miles, 1750 feet ascent
The race provides multiple well stocked feed stations, hot drinks before the race, and hot food and refreshments at the finish. The full marathon has five feed stations with a variety of items listed for previous years; the half marathon has two feed stations. Live timing and results are provided by SPORTident.
Entries open and close on published dates, with entry fees varying by category and date. The half marathon is currently listed as full and remaining places are limited to the full marathon. Age limits apply for the marathon at 18 years or older. Discounts are offered for FRA members and for younger entrants.
The event is volunteer run, with any profits donated to charity and local causes. Policies include free swaps between races and free deferrals to the following year if made by the stated deadline, substitutions or sale of places by a specified date, and no refunds.
