33rd Yorkshireman Off Road Marathon & Half Marathon
The Yorkshireman Off Road event features two distinct distances through open moorland, trails, and woods. This off-road race follows Fell Runners Association (FRA) rules and guidelines, requiring participants to carry mandatory minimum kit. The course is well-marked, though participants are advised to be familiar with the route and must carry a relevant map.
Distances available at the event include:
- Marathon: A 26.2-mile course with 3,065 feet of ascent.
- Half Marathon: A 14.8-mile course with 1,750 feet of ascent.
The Marathon distance welcomes both solo runners and pairs, with specific categories for mixed, men's, and women's pairs. The Half Marathon is open to individuals only and is designed to be accessible for those new to fell running. Both races utilize live timing and results services.
Participants can access several well-stocked feed stations along the routes. The marathon features five stations, while the half marathon includes two. Provision is made for different paces, with early start windows available for walkers or those anticipating a longer time on the course.
The event provides hot drinks before the race and hot food, including pizza, at the finish. Participants have the option to purchase specially designed race clothing such as T-shirts, hoodies, and zipped hoodies during registration.
