Yorkshireman Off Road Marathon - Sunday 13 September 2026
The Yorkshireman is an off-road marathon event offering two distances organised by Keighley and Craven Athletics Club. The two options are:
- Full Marathon: 26.2 miles with 3065 feet of ascent.
- Half Marathon: 14.8 miles with 1750 feet of ascent.
The event is run under Fell Runners Association (FRA) rules and minimum mandatory kit must be carried for both races. Feed stations are positioned on the courses and are described in the race brief; typical supplies include water, squash, cola, fruit, chocolate, jelly babies and some savoury items such as Port and Stilton. Marathon feed stations include additional items later in the race, sometimes salted potatoes, crisps and cake.
Entries have historically sold out in advance. Entry pricing for 2026 included an early rate and a later rate, with discounts for FRA members and competitors under 25, and a limited number of free places offered to active UK mountain/fell rescue members. Optional bespoke race clothing is available at set prices, including short- and long-sleeved shirts and hoodies.
Chip timing is used for both races with live updates at feed stations and finish. Organisers run pre-race recce runs with several pace groups, sell waterproof route maps at recces, and provide GPX files and written route guides. The event maintains awards by category and a pairs category in the full marathon. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
