Event overview
The Golden Pumpkin Plod is the 50th annual Thanksgiving race in Highland, IN, held on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at Lincoln Center (2450 Lincoln Street). The event includes the following distances:
- 10K Timed Run - USATF certified (IN24005TDK), chip-timed (T&H Timing)
- 5K Fun Walk - non-competitive, not timed
Both courses begin at Highway Ave. and Kennedy Ave., loop through the streets of Highland, and finish at Lincoln Center. The 10K uses age divisions for male and female participants: 8 & under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-18, then five-year increments up to 80+. The event is part of the Calumet Striders 2025 Gold Cup Elite Series.
Registration, awards and other details
Pre-registration is available only at runsignup.com; race day registration is at the Lincoln Community Center fieldhouse and accepts cash only. Fee tiers are listed for early bird, standard, and day-of entry for both the 10K and 5K; early bird registration guarantees shirt size. Participants receive a cotton long-sleeve shirt while supplies last and may pick up shirt and bib at Lincoln Center fieldhouse the day before the race or on race day.
Awards include pumpkin pies for the top three finishers in each age division and the top three Athena (170 lbs.+ female) and Clydesdale (210 lbs.+ male) finishers. Plaques are awarded to top overall male and female and top masters male and female (age 40+). Strollers and leashed dogs are allowed; those participants are asked to start at the back and not impede others. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
