Event Overview

The Preston Fast 5 is a new race series starting in 2026. It offers runners an opportunity to record a time for a 5K distance on a closed, traffic-free road circuit.

Course Details

The race takes place on the UCLan Sports Arena Cycle Track at the University of Lancashire Sports Arena in Preston. The route consists of just over three laps of the traffic-free track, which has no sharp turns or bends.

Race Format

The series consists of four individual events on separate Wednesday evenings:

  • Wed 22 April 2026
  • Wed 20 May 2026
  • Wed 17 June 2026
  • Wed 15 July 2026

Each evening features two separate races. Race 1 is for runners aiming for a sub-18:00 minute finish. Race 2 is for runners with a target time over 18:00 minutes.

Entry Information

Entry is online only via SiEntries and closes on the Monday evening before each Wednesday race. There is no entry on the day. The entry limit is 60 runners per race. Participants must enter each race individually as there is no series entry.

Entry fees are £7 for club-affiliated runners and £9 for unaffiliated runners. The event is described as a no-frills race with no prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
