Horwich 'Kona of the North' Triathlon, Multisport & Trail Runs takes place on 3 May 2026 at Horwich Leisure Centre, Victoria Road, Horwich, Bolton BL6 5PY, Great Britain. The event is organised by Epic Events and has run for over 25 years in the North West. The programme includes triathlon, duathlon, aquathlon, aquabike and trail running. Aquabike and the Half Pike and Full Pike trail runs are listed as new additions for 2026. British Triathlon membership or a single-use race pass is required to compete in the triathlon, duathlon, aquathlon and aquabike; no race pass is required for the trail races.
Race formats, distances and entry details
- Standard Triathlon: 500 m pool swim, 40 km cycle, 8.6 km run to the summit of Rivington Pike and back.
- Sprint Triathlon: 400 m pool swim, 20 km cycle, 5 km run following the same route with an earlier turnaround.
- Trail runs: 8.6 km Full Pike and 5 km Half Pike.
- Sprint and Standard options are offered for duathlon and aquathlon; aquabike is offered in Sprint and Standard formats.
Entry fees listed include solo triathlon sprint/standard at £59/£69 and relay teams at £89/£99. Aquathlon and aquabike have lower solo fees, and trail entries are priced at £20 (5K) and £25 (8.6K). Entries close either at noon on the Thursday before the event or when the event fills.
