Event overview
The Nicky Nook Fell Race is scheduled for 7 May 2026 around Scorton and Nicky Nook near Garstang. The course is a category BS fell race of 5 miles (about 8 km) with approximately 310 m (about 1,000 ft) of climb. The venue is The Shippon at the Applestore Café, Wyresdale Park, Snowhill Lane, Scorton, PR3 1BA. The race is licensed by the Fell Runners Association under UK Athletics rules.
Entry and limits
Pre-entry opens on 1 January 2026 and closes on 5 May 2026. Entry fee is £8.00. Entry on the night is possible only if the entry limit of 140 runners has not been reached. Minimum age for entry is 16.
Course and kit
The course is partially flagged. Runners are asked not to use the final off-road descent when recceing the route; that descent is available for use on race night only by landowner permission. FRA mandatory minimum kit must be carried and will be checked before race numbers are issued. Required items include a waterproof full-body cover with taped seams and an attached hood, a hat (not a buff), gloves, an appropriate map, a compass, a whistle and emergency food.
Facilities and parking
Free soup and a roll are provided for all runners after the race at the Applestore Café. Food and drinks will be available to buy. A good amount of free parking is available at the Applestore. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
