Event Overview
The Pinnacles Classic is a trail running event at Gold Creek Reservoir near Brisbane. In 2026, the event offers two distances: the 18km Pinnacles Classic and the 36km Double Pinnacles. The course is located within Brisbane Forest Park (d’Aguilar National Park).
Course Details
The main 18km loop has a total elevation gain of 750 meters and features a route around the Gold Creek Reservoir. For 2026, this loop will be run clockwise. The Double Pinnacles (36km) is two loops of the same course, with a total elevation gain of 1500 meters. There is a mandatory cut-off time of 11:30 AM for all participants.
One checkpoint is located halfway along the loop, providing water, cola, electrolytes, and lollies. Runners must carry at least one liter of fluids.
Registration and Logistics
Entry fees are A$125 for the 36km race and A$85 for the 18km race, with a 10% discount for TRAQ members. The event has a field limit of 200 participants. Registration closes on Thursday, 5 March 2026.
Parking is at the Brookfield Recreation Reserve. A shuttle bus service will transport participants to and from the Gold Creek Reservoir starting at 5:15 AM. No event parking is permitted at the reservoir.
Post-Race and Other Information
The entry fee includes post-race bakery goods, fruit, soft drinks, electrolytes, and water. Coffee and smoothies will be available for purchase. Presentations for winners will take place at a nearby venue around 12 PM. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
