Event Overview

The Manchester - Priya's Birthday Biryani Dash is a running event taking place at Burrs Country Park in Bury. This event is a collaboration between Phoenix Running Manchester and The Sunnywood Project, a community-based organization focused on mental health and outdoor access. A portion of each entry fee is donated directly to support the mission of The Sunnywood Project.

Course and Format

The event is held on a course consisting mostly of hard-packed trails and riverside trails. It follows a lapped format where participants can choose to complete as many laps as they wish within a 7-hour time limit. Each lap of 3.28 miles features approximately 187 feet of elevation. Based on the number of laps completed, runners can achieve various standard distances:

  • 1 lap: 3.28 miles
  • 2 laps: 6.6 miles
  • 4 laps: Half marathon
  • 8 laps: Marathon
  • 9+ laps: Ultra marathon

Facilities and Support

A fully stocked aid station is available throughout the day, providing water, squash, and various snacks such as cookies, biscuits, bananas, and crisps. Registration and toilet facilities are located at The Sunnywood Hub. There is a significant amount of public parking available within Burrs Country Park, most of which is free of charge.

Additional Information

This event follows a flexible "rock up and run" format. The first 50 participants to enter are eligible for a vegan biryani following their run. All participants who complete their chosen distance receive a commemorative medal or memento.
