Night of the Undead - Zombie Run
Night of the Undead is presented as Wigan's first zombie run at Haigh Woodland Park in Haigh, Wigan, WN2 1PE. The event offers a mixed terrain 5 km run, jog or walk across park drives and woodland trails.
The marked route follows 2.5 laps of the park and measures approximately 5.15 km. The course includes designated zombie zones where actors portraying the undead roam the trail.
Participants wear a belt with three flags that represent lives. Zombies attempt to remove flags; finishing with at least one flag is recorded as survived while finishing with no flags is recorded as infected. The event is described as a fun run rather than a race, but all participants will be manually timed and receive an online time.
All finishers receive an exclusive glow in the dark event medal. Entry for a runner is listed at £22.00 plus a booking fee, with a total shown as £23.05.
