Phoenix Children's Spooktacular Sprint & 5K
Phoenix Children's Spooktacular Sprint & 5K takes place on October 24, 2026 at Wesley Bolin Plaza in downtown Phoenix. The event combines a race with a Halloween-themed gathering; participants run, jog or walk a distance of 3.1 miles through downtown while wearing Halloween costumes. The event is also a fundraiser to support Phoenix Children’s and its staff.
When registering, participants can select the specific area of care they want to fundraise for. Fundraising supports many programs and centers at Phoenix Children’s, including the Barrow Neurological Institute, Behavioral and Mental Health services, the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, the Center for Heart Care, and the Center for Trauma Care. Other supported areas include Child Life, Therapeutic Arts, Patient and Family Assistance, Nursing, Palliative Care and Bereavement, Volunteer Services, and the Hope Fund. The Hope Fund provides support to over 170 donation funded programs and services at Phoenix Children’s.
The event has a history of community fundraising. In 2025 approximately 3,000 participants raised more than $400,000 for Phoenix Children’s programs and services. Proceeds from the Spooktacular Sprint & 5K help maintain the hospital’s family centered approach to pediatric care and support clinicians, nurses and support staff who serve children and families.
