Pendle Way on a Midsummers Night 2028
This is an overnight trail event on the Pendle Way, based in Barley, Lancashire, running from Saturday into Sunday. The route follows waymarked footpaths and bridleways across moorland in East Lancashire and the South Pennines. A full route of approximately 45 miles with 6100 ft ascent (68 km, 1870 m) is offered, with an alternative option of approximately 30 miles with 4500 ft ascent (48 km, 1382 m).
The route is waymarked with the Pendle Witch symbol; organisers will provide a full map, GPX files and written instructions. Checkpoint closure times and detailed information will be provided in accordance with the overall finish time. Registration is located in Barley, Lancashire. Entries open 15 December 2024 and close 11 June 2028. Entry fee is £40.00.
Required kit includes full body waterproof cover, map, headtorch with spare batteries or second headtorch, compass, whistle, mug, fully charged mobile phone, and appropriate fell or trail footwear. An OS 1:25k map will be available and OL21 is recommended. Minimum entrant age is 18 years. Dogs are not permitted. Transfers are allowed up to one month before the event.
