Pendle Way on a Midsummers Night 2028
Pendle Way on a Midsummers Night is an overnight trail event based in Barley, Lancashire. The route follows the waymarked Pendle Way through local footpaths, bridleways and moorland in the South Pennines. Organisers provide a full map, GPX files and written instructions.
Distances offered:
- Approximately 45 miles with 6100 ft ascent (68 km, 1870 m)
- Approximately 30 miles with 4500 ft ascent (48 km, 1382 m)
The event is staged at night and requires navigation ability and an amount of climbing. Mandatory kit includes full body waterproof cover, map, headtorch and spare batteries or a second headtorch, compass, whistle, mug and a fully charged mobile phone. Appropriate fell or trail footwear must be worn. An OS 1:25k map will be available and OL21 is recommended.
Entry opens 15 December 2024 and closes 11 June 2028. Entry fee is £40. Minimum age is 18 years. Dogs are not permitted. Transfers are allowed up to one month before the event.
