Oktoberfest Run - Rodley
Oktoberfest is a canal running event along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, based at Rodley Cricket Club, Canal Bank Sports Ground, Moss Bridge Road, Rodley, Leeds, LS13 1RL. The race uses towpaths with generally flat ground and gentle elevation around canal locks.
Distances offered include:
- 10K
- 10 miles
- Half marathon
- 20 miles
- Marathon
- Ultra marathon
The event is chip-timed and fully marshalled. Feed stations are provided approximately every 3 miles; these are cup-less so runners are asked to carry a bottle or cup. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and post-race treats. The race holds a Trail Running Association licence.
Registration and event logistics are handled at Rodley Cricket Club. Parking at the cricket club is charged at £5 cash, with proceeds going to the club. Public transport links serve the area from Leeds, Keighley, Shipley, Bingley and Bradford, and car sharing is encouraged.
Runner notes include a prohibition on over-ear headphones, with bone-conducting or one-in/one-out earphones permitted. GPX routes are available for download prior to the event. Withdrawals should be reported to a marshal and distance drops may be allowed. Transfers and deferrals can be made online up to 72 hours before the event.
