Bronte Half Marathon
The Bronte Half Marathon is a trail race of 13.1 miles held in Bronte Country between Haworth and Hebden Bridge. The event supports the charity Sue Ryder and follows a one lap, hilly route with a trail profile. Race headquarters are at Penistone Hill Country Park, Haworth.
The event returned after a trial debut year and is organised alongside an established MTB ride that has run in the area for 19 years. Organisers place signage and feed stations on route and provide a pie and peas meal and a race memento for all finishers. The event lists course records of 1:39:20 for men and 2:33:07 for women.
Entry is limited to 200 places; the listed fee for adults and U18s is £17.00. If the event does not sell out, on the day entry may be available for an additional £5. Race details note the course is not suitable for wheelchairs and that the race is classified as trail and hilly.
Facilities at the event include water and toilets. There are no distance markers, no changing facilities, no showers and no baggage storage.
